Seán Byers received his PhD from the University of Ulster in 2012. His research interests include Irish labour, republican and international socialist history and politics. Presently, he is conducting research on the role of Republican Youth in post-conflict Northern Ireland and is writing a political biography of Seán Murray (1898-1961), the prominent Irish republican and communist.
