    168 days to select a first minister & deputy first minister would facilitate regular periods without an assembly.
    This only encourages SF & DUP to procrastinate in their tar pits.
    Any party incapable of select a leader before a LE should simply be banned from the assembly on the basis that they are incompetent & not fit to form a local government.

    October 2022 and this draft agreement has aged like a fine wine compared to the rank odour of NDNA and the Westminster-imposed legislation related to it.

    If the DUP had some cojones at the time, faced down the Orange Order, and pushed this agreement over the line BEFORE the extremists on their side of the aisle could scupper it, we’d all have been better off, alas…

    As David Ervine (R.I.P.) once said of the DUP; “These people are not to be trusted, their interest does not lie in Northern Ireland, their interest is self-interest.”

    How right he was… boy, unionism needs the likes of David Ervine now more than ever…
