Independent clinics using faulty implants should be held accountable for the well being of women attending the clinics. This is the strongly held view of the chairperson of the Assembly’s Health Committee, Michelle Gildernew.
She has been responding to serious charges by leading plastic surgeon Stephen Sinclair who claimed on eamonnmallie.com that many surgeons attached to offices in Belfast of ‘commercial high street firms’ are not adequately qualified.
Gildernew further argues that women being refused remedy by these clinics will “vote with their feet.”
