Boston College is not above the law

Only Governments can afford absolute protection to personal manuscripts and affidavits in libraries such Boston College. This is the view of Belfast’s Linen Hall Librarian John Killen.

Boston College finds itself plunged into controversy following an order by a judge in the United States to hand over a collection of interviews involving former IRA and Loyalist members who told their life stories, believing the details of which would only become public after their deaths.

Now the PSNI, has moved to procure these tapes, in pursuance of its investigations into unresolved murders and crime in Northern Ireland.
