That’s the view from Adrian Logan as he pulls no punches when it comes to violence on the sports field.
Leading GAA commentator Adrian Logan, in a no-holes barred criticism of violence in sport told me today ‘I want the better team to win, not the biggest thug.’ Logan was reacting to a weekend attack on a GAA referee in County Antrim and in the wake of a vicious assault on County Fermanagh footballer, Mark McGovern, during a game in San Francisco. The young GAA man was so seriously hurt that it was feared he would not survive. Mr Logan argues that if violence is unacceptable on the street, then it is not acceptable on the sports field.
