Perhaps the biggest art event of 2011 will be Manet’s huge retrospective at the Musee d’Orsay in Paris (April 4…July 4). This will be just one exhibition of note. London will hang at Tate Modern the first Miro exhibition in 50 years in Britain. That will run from April 14 -September 11. In recent years I saw the Miro collection in Barcelona where it has been on permanent show. I don’t claim to understand what Miro is about but I love use of shapes and marks. In the Autumn Germany’s photo realist painter Gerhard Richter hangs in Tate Modern Modern. A lot to see and for this we should be thankful in this era of austerity. Below see: ‘May 1968’ by Joan Miro.
Miro and other super stars of the art world will be on show in London and Paris in 2011.
