Nicola Godden showed for many years in the Tom Caldwell Gallery in
Belfast and in Dublin. Little of her work is seen now on the island of
Ireland. While in no sense adventurous as a sculptor, her output is
always pleasing, maybe too pleasing. Many of her female figurative
pieces resonate of Kenya. Her line is invariably interesting and
eloquent in what it conveys. In the piece below nature through element
of snow appears to beatify the innocent children to the eye of the
viewer. The children imply an obliviousness to the cruelty of nature.
